The Summer Shows is amazing event and very rewarding. but also a lot of work: this years show will have 32 dance numbers, over 250 costumes, and over 150 performers… so we need your help!
Westminster council has requested a minimum of 6 (ideally 8) licensed chaperones for the performance day.
The chaperones would be required to apply through Greenwich Council, have an interview with a council official, a (Disclosure Barring Service) DBS check and attend a day long safeguarding course.
without chaperones we are unable to run the performance so would really appreciate volunteers!
Non Chaperone Helpers
We will also need 8 parents as backstage helpers, to be a backstage helper on show day the Council have asked that they be DBS checked and have first aid training.
I will be arranging a group first aid training session for all backstage helpers and chaperones in April or May 2020.
We will need upwards to 250 costumes for this show.
To keep the costs as low as we can we try to re-use some costumes from previous years and add some extra sparkle to match our themes as well as buy some new costumes.
We will be in desperate need of seamstresses to help with embellishments on some of our older stock and to help with alterations on costume fitting days.
We will be making some props and set for this production but some things are beyond my skills with a glue gun!
We would ideally like someone to help make us a giant chocolate coin strong enough to take some of our tap dancers…
From January we will be holding some afternoon craft sessions to make props and head dresses for the show.
These session will be at Halstow from 2pm – 4.30pm
If you are available to come with your little one to help us make some head dresses or giant lollipops we would love to have you!
Sessions will be on:
January 11th, 18th & 25th
February 1st, 8th and 15th
