Grade 4 – 5 Ballet:
Grade 4 ballet and upwards continues to use more technically demanding barre and centre work and enhances an application of the correct posture and turn out for ballet. Students are expected to have a strong technical vocabulary along with the ability to execute the very demanding syllabus. Grade 4 -5 ballet graded exams are OFQUAL accredited and examined at a very high standard. Performance awards are available for students taking a more relaxed approach to ballet. From Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is compulsory from grade 4 upwards to aid a dancers technique and to help prevent injury (through incorrect technique or lack of strength).
Grade 6 – 8 Ballet:
Grade 6 – 8 ballet is the highest non-vocational grade available in bbodance. To obtain this level students are required to perform classical barre and centre as well as pointe work. These grade carry OFQUAL points.
Intermediate Foundation – Advanced 2 Ballet:
The ballet grades are the highest ballet grades available in bbodance. To obtain this level students are required to perform classical barre and centre as well as pointe work. These grade carry OFQUAL points.
Grade 4 – 8 Tap
The higher grade continue the technical progression through tap technique with intricate exercises and rhythms seeing a professional standard of tap in Grade 7 & 8 to a level to rival the West End.
Grade 4 – 8 Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is a wonderful new syllabus from Bbodance focusing on West End style exercises and performance dances. The focus on this syllabus is performance as well as a technical basis for jazz and musical theatre style dance.
Grade 1 – 8 Contemporary is a wonderful syllabus using the strength of ballet with the freedom of modern. The work focuses on different techniques and methods used within the world of contemporary. This strength building syllabus is a complementary syllabus to the restraints of ballet.
