Tiptoes & Tappers teaches BBODance syllabus ballet, tap and freestyle jazz and Contemporary. As a BBODance school we require students to wear BBODance regulation ballet uniform for classes and exams. This uniform can be obtained through the school or any recommended retailer. On the school website there is an information page about the school uniform and how to order it.
Tiptoes offer exams yearly. Exams are not offered to every student at every exam session, rather when the teacher believes the student ready to progress to the next grade. When your child is ready for an exam session you will receive an email with all the information you require. You will need to fill out a form to confirm you would like to take part in the session. Your child will then be entitled to join any classes of the same grade the school has timetabled free of charge for extra practice. Nearer the time you will receive the time of your child’s exam and the school protocol on exam days.
Once you have filled out the online registration you will receive an automated email with the schools payment details. We run classes via monthly Standing order (SO) with the fees for the year divided into 12 payments. If you join mid year you will be asked to set the SO for the remainder of the year with payments ending in August.
If you decide to finish classes before the end of the school year we require 1 months notice in fees and email to allow us time to allocate your child’s place to any students on our waiting lists. This term is highlighted in the booking process and is required of all students.
Demonstration and Summer Shows
Tiptoes offer an informal demonstration or watching of work at least once a year. Every other year the school hire a Theatre and produce a full scale performance. Please note that during a show term classes may run at different and potentially extended times to allow for comprehensive rehearsals and costume fittings. Tickets, production fees, costumes, licenses and insurances are not included in fees. Please note summer shows are not compulsory.
Duty of Care
It is Tiptoes policy that all students be dropped and picked up form their class door. No student will be released from the studio without a parent or carer to collect them. Tiptoes staff have all received training in child protection and have current DBS checks. On Saturdays at least 2 teachers hold full first aid certificates as well as weekday teachers having first aid training. The full school handbook with all policies can be found on the Tiptoes website.
